18-yr-old among nine more die of COVID in J&K, toll 745

Srinagar, Sep 03 (KNO): COVID-19, a deadly virus on Thursday claimed nine more lives in Jammu and Kashmir, thus taking the toll of deaths due to COVID-19 to 745 in the Union Territory.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer that nine patients who died include a 46-year-old woman from Chanapora Srinagar, a 50-year-old man from Achabal Anantnag, an 85-year-old woman from Rajbagh Srinagar, a 60-year-old woman from Manigam Kupwara, an 18-year-old youth from Reasi, a 70-year-old woman from Gengal Uri, a 75-year-old patient from Patoli Jammu, a 59-year-old man from Basoli Kathua and a 75-year-old woman from Samba.

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Chanapora Srinagar who was admitted on 30 August with 60 percent burn injuries and was tested positive for COVID-19 died on Wednesday evening.

He added that a patient from Manigam Kupwara who was admitted on 29 August with hypertension, COPD, bilateral Pneumonia and other ailments died on Thursday.

An official from SMHS said that a patient from Achabal Anantnag who was admitted on 28 August died on Thursday.

An official said that an 85-year-old woman from Rajbagh and a 70-year old woman from Gengal Uri also died on Thursday.

An official from Jammu said that one each patient from Jammu, Kathua, Samba and Reasi who were undergoing treatment from last many days after testing positive for COVID-19 died on Thursday.

With nine more deaths, the death toll in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 745 including 666 from Kashmir division and 79 from Jammu division
