COVID-19: Two more deaths reported from valley,Jammu and Kashmir Toll mounts to 71

Srinagar, 18th June, CNS: A 65-year-old man from Shopian and an 80-year-old man from Srinagar on Thursday succumbed due to Covid-19, at a Srinagar hospital here in Kashmir Valley, taking the fatality count due to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir to 71.

An official at SMHS Hospital, told that the a 65 year old patient from Shopian who was admitted in the hospital on Wednesday with acute breathing problem died today after testing positive for Covid-19 pathogen.

He further said that the octogenarian hailing from Nawa Bazar area of Srinagar city who was admitted here on June 15th with complains of hypertension, bilateral pneumonia and was already suffering from other ailments succumbed to Covid-19 today.

So far, 71 people have succumbed to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir out of which nine are from Jammu and sixty two from Valley.

Srinagar district with 17 deaths has the highest fatalities followed by Baramulla with 12, Kulgam and Shopian with 08 each, Anantnag with 06, Kupwara with 05, Jammu with 06, Budgam with 03, Pulwama with 02, while one death each has been reported from Bandipora, Doda, Udhampur and Rajouri.
