LAHDC Election: Voting Begins Today Morning For 26 Seats

Srinagar: For the 5th Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council (LAHDC) elections, a voting took place on Wednesday morning to decide the fate of candidates vying in 26 constituencies.

As per the news agency CNS, an official said that the election has been going on since morning at around 278 polling stations in Kargil, with 85 candidates in the fray trying their luck.

The voting was said to conclude at 4 pm on Wednesday after the votes were casted by the balloters around 8 am in the morning. The turnout of the votes is also expected to be good as long queues were seen at the polling stations, the official said.

It is pertinent to mention that (LAHDC)-Kargil has 48,626 male voters and 46,762 are women voters, making a total count of 95,388. It was also said that on the 8th of this month, the counting of votes will start.
