“Message of peace by Prophet Mohammed (SAW) shows us the way forward for harmony”: Dr Andrabi

Srinagar : Chairperson of Jammu & Kashmir Waqf Board and Minister of State J&K Dr Darakhshan Andrabi today offered prayers at Hazratbal shrine in Srinagar on the occasion of Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi amid a record participation of the devotees. Waqf Board had put in all requisite arrangements for the festivity and the facilities to cater huge congregations here and on other prominent shrines. Amid great reverence, people took a glimpse of the pious relic of Prophet Muhammed (PBUH) at the shrine. Earlier Dr Andrabi led a cleanliness drive with a huge public participation at the shrine where lakhs of devotees had been visiting during the past twelve days.

Dr Andrabi spoke to the media about the spiritual revival in J&K. “In a changed atmosphere, we are in the era of revival of spirituality and the re-boosting of Sufi ideology in the land of Saints and Awlia who preached us the ways of co-existence and peace. Message of peace by Prophet Mohammed (SAW) shows us the way forward for harmony ”.

She said that it was soothing and assuring to see the active participation of the majority population during Milad congregations which were earlier banned by radicals. Dr Andrabi said that revival of the true spirit of Islam guarantees the establishment of a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in J&K.
