COVID-19: 65 year old man from Handwara dies at CD hospital, toll reaches to 44

Srinagar, June 08 : A Covid infected elderly man from Handwara area of North Kashmir’s Kupwara district died at CD hospital on Monday, taking death toll due to Covid-19 pandemic to 44 in the Jammu and Kashmir.

This is the third Covid death since morning in Kashmir as earlier in the day, a CRPF posted in South Kashmir who was admitted in SKIMS, Soura breathed his last after testing positive for the pandemic. A few hours after him, a 35-year-old man from Khanyar area of Srinagar, who had met an accident and had contracted the deadly virus, succumbed at CD hospital, Srinagar.

Dr Saleem Tak, Medical Superintendent at CD hospital confirmed to news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), that a Covid-19 positive patient who was undergoing treatment at CD hospital has died at the hospital on Monday afternoon. “He was 65-year-old and hailed from Hadnwara area of Kupwara,” he said. “The patient was very sick and had many underlying issues.”

The death toll due to Covid-19 positive patients in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 44 which includes 39 from Kashmir division( including a non-local tailor and a CRPF man) and five from Jammu division
