Pak trying to push foreign Militants into J&K: Army Commander

Jammu :  Stating that Pakistan is unable to digest the progress being made by Jammu and Kashmir, Northern Command Army Commander, Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi on Wednesday said the neighbour is trying to engineer infiltration of foreign terrorists to disrupt peace and hamper the ongoing development work.

“With a motive to create disturbance in the ongoing progress, Pakistan is trying to push foreign Militants in Jammu and Kashmir despite the union territory now having a better internal security situation,” Lt Gen Dwivedi told reporters on the sidelines of the third day of North Tech Symposium at IIT Jammu here.

The Army Commander stated that over 1.88 crore tourists visited Jammu and Kashmir in 2022 and efforts are on to have this figure touch 2.25 crore this year, adding, “Pakistan is unable to digest this progress, so it is trying to disturb this journey of progress but we will not allow them to succeed in their nefarious designs.”

He said the Army is now trying to neutralise the terrorists on the LoC itself and not allowing them to succeed in infiltration.

On Rajouri gunfight, the Army Commander said that Army tried to neutralise the foreign terrorists on the LoC.

On the death of Army Dog Kent during the operation, Lt Gen Dwivedi added, “he (Kent) laid down his life to save his handler when he attacked the terrorist by moving ahead first.”
