Govt. Orders Constitution of TAC for CCTV Surveillance Installation in Police Stations/Posts in J&K

Srinagar : The J&K government on Friday ordered the constitution of a Technical Appraisal Committee (TAC) for the project of CCTV surveillance installation in Police Stations/Police Posts across the UT.

As per the news agency CNS, an order from the government in this regard said that the TAC would be headed by the State Informatics Officer, NIC, J&K Mohamed Saleem Khan as its Chairman and would have Anil Gupta, Director, Centre of IT Enabled Services and Management, University of Jammu; Representative of NIELET to be nominated by Director Incharge, NIELET, J&K and Rajeev Gupta, Technical Officer, IT Department as its members.

TAC committee has been tasked with examining and getting the document technically vetted and accordingly, shall make the necessary recommendations to the indenting department. Besides, the committed shall also give its recommendations/suggestions on the viability of the proposed solutions in the document, if any, along with the estimated cost, said the order.

“The committee shall ensure strict compliance to all rules, procedures/guidelines issued by the government from time to time while vetting the document. The committee shall submit its report within 07 days from the date of issuance of this order to the indenting under intimation to General Administration Department and the IT Department,” reads the order.
