Pall of gloom descends on Sopore as Tragic road Accident Leaves Minor Dead

Vehicle seized, driver escapes from spot; have identified him, will be nabbed soon: Police

Sopore, Aug 16 : A pall of gloom descended Tarzoo area of Sopore in north Kashmir after a 14-year old boy lost his life in a tragic road accident while the police have seized the vehicle and launched a hunt to nab the driver, involved in the incident.

An official told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a 14-year-old boy was killed in a head-on collision between a tractor and a Maruti vehicle near a fuel station at Izzat Shah Colony, Tarzoo.

The minor was injured critically, however, succumbed to his injuries later.

Soon after the incident, the injured was rushed to a nearby health facility, wherefrom he was referred to an advanced health care facility, however, he succumbed to his injuries, he said.

“The boy was identified as Adnan Manzoor Sheikh, son of Manzoor Ahmed Sheikh of Tarzoo locality in Sopore. After the legal-medico formalities, the body of the deceased was handed over to the family for the last rites,” official added.

Confirming the incident, Station House Officer (SHO) Police Station Amargrah, told KNO that the vehicle was instantly seized while the driver had escaped from the spot.

The driver has been identified and will be arrested soon. Furthermore, a case has been registered and investigation has been set up in this regard, the SHO said.

Meanwhile, soon after the news announcing the minor’s death spread in the area, a pall of gloom descended the entire area with people started rushing to the residence of deceased for offering condolences to the bereaved family.
