Youth Detained After His Video Of Reckless Stunts Goes Viral in Budgam: Police

Srinagar, Aug 5:Police on Saturday said that it has detained a youth whose video went viral while performing dangerous stunts on bike in Central Kashmir’s Budgam district.

In a handout to GNS, the police said that in response to a concerning video circulating on social media, showcasing a local youth from Pakherpora, Budgam, performing dangerous stunts on a public road, the Budgam Police took swift action and detained the rider responsible. The individual has been identified as Amir Rashid Wagay, son of Abdul Rashid Wagay, a resident of Khaigam Pulwama.

According to police spokesman, Amir Rashid Wagay’s reckless behaviour, as displayed in the video, not only posed a significant threat to his own life but also endangered the safety of pedestrians and other road users. Upon his detention, Amir Rashid Wagay was booked under relevant sections of MV Act. Furthermore, the bike used in the dangerous stunts, found without a number plate and proper documents, was also seized.

Budgam Police urges parents and guardians to take a proactive role in supervising and guiding the activities of their wards and encourages members of the public to report any similar incidents promptly, reads the statement.
