Police arrest two burglars, recovered stolen jewellery

Srinagar, Aug 3 : Police on Thursday claimed to have resolved a burglary case when they arrested two persons and recovered stolen jewellery from them in Jammu and Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

Police said on July 31, 2023, Police Station Kunzer received a complaint from one Abdul Razak, a resident of Gonipora Kunzer, stating therein that during the intervening nights of July 30 and 31, some unknown burglars barged into his residential house and stole jewellery.

A case to this effect was registered under relevant sections of the law, and an investigation was initiated.

During the investigations, with the help of technical and human resources, the names of some suspects came to light.

Two suspected persons identified as Bilal Ahmad Lone and Ashan Jeelani Wani, both residents of Gonipora Kunzer, were identified and called for questioning.

After thorough interrogation, both confessed that they had committed theft, and upon their disclosure, stolen jewellery was recovered from their possession. They were taken into custody immediately, Police said.
