DC B’la visits various Markazi Imambara; takes stock of Muharram arrangements

Interacts with people; directs Deptts to provide basic amenities for hassle free processions

Baramulla, July 21: In order to take first hand appraisal of arrangements being put in place for holy month of Muharram, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar accompanied by various senior officers of the district today conducted an extensive tour of various Imambaras including Imambara Hanjiveera and Goom Ahmadpora.

During her visit, the DC took stock of the availability of essential arrangements put in place for the smooth conduct of congregations and mourning processions during the month of Muharram-ul-Haram.

On the occasion, the DC interacted with Imambara Intizamia Committees and enquired about the facilities available for them.

The DC directed the concerned officers to ensure availability of uninterrupted water and power supply during the holy days. Municipal committees were also asked to ensure cleanliness in and around the worship places where large congregations are expected.

Further, the DC impressed upon the concerned officers to repair lanes and by-lanes leading to the Imaambaras. Directions were also passed to ensure the adequate ration supply for the devotees.

Furthermore, the DC asked all the SDMs to personally visit the Imam Baras in their jurisdictions to ensure that the required facilities are provided to the said community.
