UIDAI conducts Capacity Building cum Awareness workshop on Aadhaar features in collaboration with District Admin Srinagar

Srinagar, July 21:In order to sensitize the Civil and Police Officials of District Administration Srinagar about Aadhaar related services and its features, a Capacity Building and Awareness Session was organized by Unique Identification Authority of India(UIDAI) here at Meeting Hall of the DC Office Complex Srinagar.

The programme was organized by District Administration Srinagar in collaboration with UIDAI RO Chandigarh.

On the occasion, the DDG UIDAI, Mrs. Bhawna Garg, presided over the Aadhaar Awareness Workshop, while Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad attended the programme as the Chief Guest.

During the workshop, the Project Manager UIDAI, Shoaib Khan gave a detailed presentation about the different aspects of Aadhaar including Aadhaar registration, updation, authentication and verification processes, Document Update in Aadhaar and enrolment of new Aadhaar for 18 years and above residents.

 Speaking on the occasion, the DDG UIDAI highlighted the importance of Aadhaar related ecosystem and stressed on to use mAadhaar app or Aadhaar QR scanner app  and my Aadhaar portal https:/myaadhaar.uidai.gov.in to verify Aadhaar in their daily activities while verifying the residents. DDG UIDAI also stressed on the initiatives being taken by UIDAI to strengthen the Aadhaar ecosystem and appealed all residents to keep their Aadhaar updated to avoid any inconvenience in future. She urged Aadhaar holders who have not updated their Aadhaar in last 8 years to get their Aadhaar updated with valid supporting documents of Proof of Identity or Proof of Address either online or by visiting nearest Aadhaar Center.

DDG UIDAI  also urged the residents to get their children Mandatory Biometric Updates performed if they have attained the age of 5 years or 15 years to keep their Aadhaar active.

 Addressing the Workshop, the Deputy Commissioner anticipated that the workshop will prove helpful for all participants and also will strengthen the Aadhaar based services environment further by making them aware of latest changes in policies and procedures in the Aadhaar ecosystem.

Besides, Superintendent of Police, Chief Planning Officer and Joint Commissioner SMC, the workshop was attended by all Sectoral and Zonal Officers of District Administration.
