Helpline for medical emergencies set up in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, APRIL 17: The district administration, Anantnag has put in place a separate institutional mechanism offering requisite assistance and transportation facilities to the patients requiring urgent medical attention including Dialysis, Chemotherapy, Radiotherapy, who are being treated both in government and private health facilities, within and outside the district.

This was stated by the Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC), Anantnag here today.

Besides, some patients are availing free treatment and drugs through various institutional setups which require effective and timely delivery.

ADC added that though a Control Room is already functional in the district for receiving medical emergency and other distress calls, however considering the situation, it was felt expedient to put in place a separate mechanism for such patients.

Such patients have been asked to contact the Helpline Nos. 9419453872 and 7006035495 and Whatsapp requisite prescription for availing the facility. The transport facility, if required, will only be provided on prior appointment.

However, the arrangement is not for purchase and home delivery of medicines otherwise prohibited under relevant provisions the law in vogue, the ADC added.
