DC B’la discusses Action Plan for round Ist Immunization under IMI 5.0

Calls for saturating all left-outs especially in far flung & high Risk Areas with Immunization

Baramulla, July 10: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar today chaired a meeting with the concerned officers to discuss the action plan for Round Ist Immunization under Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 commencing in the district from August 7.

The Ist round of Immunization under the intensified Mission Indradhanush will commence in the district from 7-12 August,  followed by the second and third round from  September 11-16 and October 9-14 respectively.

During the meeting, Dr Sehrish took a review of the action plan for the first round of immunization under Intensified Mission Indradhanush 5.0 in the district being rolled out to strengthen routine immunization to achieve full immunization coverage.

On the occasion, the Deputy Chief Medical officer Baramulla  through PowerPoint presentation briefed the chair about the preparations and plans to ensure coverage of all left out children for Vaccination across the district.

While discussing the action plan, the DC directed the officers to work in synergy and mobilize grassroots functionaries including Aganwadi workers and Ashas for the purpose.

Dr Sehrish exhorted upon the officers to focus on the target beneficiaries including children and unvaccinated/ partially vaccinated pregnant women.

The officials will also focus on areas with vaccine hesitancy/refusal for vaccination and areas with high left-out and drop-out children with a special focus on MR-1 and MR-2, said the DC.

Elaborating further,  Dr Sehrish said that the Indradhanush 5.0 is also aimed to eliminate Measles and Rubella. “When we cover all the children only then we will be able to achieve that target,” DC added.
