Cultural Unit Kashmir of DIPR remembers noted Folk Singer, Ghulam Mohammad Kawa

Srinagar, July 10: Popular Kashmiri folk singer and senior artist of Cultural Unit Kashmir Ghulam Mohammad Dar (Kawa) was fondly remembered today on his Death anniversary.

In this connection, a daylong musical tribute event was organised by the Cultural Unit Kashmir DIPR and other cultural organizations at the banks of Jhelum, Dana Mazar Park.

Scores of legendary folk singers, scholars and the fans of the late singer assembled to pay glowing tributes to late Kawa.

Prominent folk singers of the valley participated in the program and paid rich musical tributes to the late singer.

The speakers from Intizamiya Committee Ustaad Ghulam Mohammad Dar (Kawa), highlighted various dimensions of his life and contribution to the field of Kashmiri folk singing and promoting sufiyana kalam.

The dignitaries and the family members of late Kawa appreciated Cultural Unit Kashmir for remembering the artists after their demise and promoting sufiyana folk singing in J&K.
