Amarnath Yatra-2023: DGP J&K Visits Pantha Chowk Yatra Transit Camp

Takes stock of security arrangements and traffic management

Srinagar, Jul 4 : Director General of Police J&K Dilbag Singh visited Pantha Chowk Yatra Transit Camp this afternoon and took stock of the security arrangements and traffic management at the camp made for the Shri Amar Nath Ji yatra. He also interacted with the yatris and reviewed facilities being provided in the camp.

DGP was accompanied by ADGP Kashmir Zone Vijay Kumar, DIG CKR Sujit Kumar, SSP Srinagar Rakesh Balwal and officers of CAPFs. He inspected the functioning of the Joint Police Control Room and CCTVs.

“JKP and CAPFs incharge camp officers briefed the DGP about the measures taken for the security of the camp. They also apprised the DGP about the arrangements put in place for smooth security and traffic movement in and outside of the camp”, reads a statement issued to GNS.

“During the interaction with the officers, the DGP stressed upon the officers to ensure strict compliance of SOPs and instructions conveyed for the security of yatris. He said that measures taken should be implemented efficiently and all the security, particularly of vital points of the camp, should be reviewed regularly and directed to take required measures if any.”

The DGP, the statement reads, directed the officers to brief the deployed personnel from time to time and take all measures for safety and security of the camp. He directed the officers to make sure that the cut off timings are adhered to. He impressed the officers to enhance their supervision and directed them to plug all the loopholes and abide by laid down Standard operating procedures (SoPs).

The DGP wished the officers and personnel of all the forces all the best and stressed for enhanced cooperation.
