Kupwara, June 23 : A huge cache of arms and ammunition alongside fifty-five packets of brown-sugar was recovered from a militant group killed in an operation in Machil sector, army said here on Friday.
The army hailed the operation, launched by it in ‘Kala Jungle’ in Machil sector of Kupwara, as a major breakthrough against militants by the security forces.
The operation, as per an army officer, led to the neutralization of a militant group (of four militants) and recovery of weaponry including 09 AK-47 rifles, 14 AK magazines, Fourteen magazines capable of housing ammunition for AK-47 rifles.
“The weaponry confiscated, highlighted the intent of militants to sustain prolonged engagements”, said the army officer as per.
