Kulgam police arrested two more drug peddlers and recovered contraband substance from their possession

Kulgam, June 16 :Kulgam police under the close supervision of SP Kulgam Shri Sahil Sarangal-IPS is making every effort to hunt down the drug peddlers in the district and to put them behind the bars.

In this regard, yesterday at about 1930 hours; police party headed by SHO police station Qazigund established a checkpoint (Naka) at Levdoora Crossing and during checking one vehicle (Bus) bearing registration No. JK02BM-4755 was intercepted and after checking, officers present were able to recover 10 Kg of Poppy Straw like contraband substance filled in the nylon bag which was kept behind the drivers seat. The two drug peddlers namely; Rakesh Kumar (Driver) son of Ball Krishan a resident of Khadi Udhampur and Samraj son of Bansilal a resident of Dhar road Jammu were arrested and shifted to police station Qazigund where they remain in police custody and also the vehicle used in commission of crime was seized.

Regarding this incident, a Case with FIR No. 116/2023 U/S 8/15 of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up.
