More than hundred trains affected due to cyclone Biparjoy: Railway spokesperson

New Delhi, June 14 : Operation of more than hundred trains have been affected due to cyclone Biparjoy in the state capital.

According to spokesperson of West Railway spokesperson, 69 trains have been suspended, 33 trains have been terminated before their destination and 25 trains have been arranged to operate from stations situated in between.

The administration has made arrangements to deal with the cyclone. Its impact will be felt in Bhavnagar, Mahua, Varival and Porbandar.

Starting from Monday, the goods train will be equipped with Double stack. The arrangements are being reviewed from time to time.

According to a railway spokesperson, medical emergencies and vans are kept on standby.

The alert department has been activated.

Along with this, the cyclone speed too is being monitored. Diesel engines too are being arranged. The communications department too is being prepared.

Constant review is being done from the War room of the railway station in the state capital. Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnav himself is keeping a strict check.
