Amit Shah reviews Amarnath yatra preparedness in High-Level Meeting

Srinagar, June 9 : Union Home Minister Amit Shah presided over a crucial high-level meeting today to assess the preparedness and security arrangements for the upcoming Amarnath Yatra in Kashmir, officials said here on Friday.
Officials told the Kashmir News Service (KNS), that the meeting held at the Ministry of Home Affairs, (MHA) office was attended by prominent officials and dignitaries involved in ensuring the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
The meeting, they said was attended by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla, Intelligence Bureau Chief Tapan Deka, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief (GoC-in-C) of the Northern Command Upendra Dwivedi, and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) Director General SL Thaosen, among several other senior officers.
The Amarnath Yatra, one of the most significant Hindu pilgrimages, is set to commence in the next month. Thousands of devotees are expected to undertake the challenging trek to the holy Amarnath Cave.
During the meeting, Home Minister Amit Shah emphasized the paramount importance of ensuring the safety and security of the pilgrims. He reviewed the existing security arrangements and instructed the officials to make all necessary arrangements for a hassle-free pilgrimage.
LG Manoj Sinha briefed the attendees on the overall situation in Jammu and Kashmir, highlighting the measures taken to ensure peace and stability in the region. He expressed his confidence in the successful conduct of the Amarnath Yatra and assured the Home Minister of the administration’s full cooperation in implementing the required protocols.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah expressed his satisfaction with the progress made so far and urged all officials to remain vigilant and proactive in their duties. He emphasized that the safety and security of the pilgrims were of utmost importance and instructed the concerned agencies to work in coordination and synergy to achieve the desired objectives.
