Handwara, May 23 : Municipal Committee Handwara demolished an ‘illegal’ under-construction shopping complex, coming up within the township, on Tuesday, official sources said.
They told GNS that an under-construction shopping complex on the land with Khasra number 1464, 65, 66, 67 and 71 was demolished by the Municipal Committee Handwara after people flagged concern over its alleged illegal construction within the Municipal limits.
“Taking cognizance of the concern expressed by people, the Municipal Committee swung into action and razed the structure to ground today”, they said.
The Municipal Committee concerned, the sources said, have dealt a stern warning to the public to refrain from involving themselves in any sort of construction without prior permission from the relevant offices.
