Rajouri, May 9: Officials said that a mentally unsound man was shot by the Army near the Line of Control in the Nowshera Sector of Rajouri district on Tuesday morning.
According to an official, the man was roaming around the Army establishment in the area when he was challenged by personnel. When he did not respond, the Army shot at him.
The man was taken to a nearby healthcare facility, where his condition is now said to be stable.
He has been identified as Anil, son of Bhagwan Dass from Charyala Kalal in Nowshera. Local residents reported that the man had a history of wandering around the village and was mentally unsound.
