Srinagar, Mar 24 :Army shot dead a suspected militant as they foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LOC)in Kupwara district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.

The bid was eliminated during the intervening night of Thursday and Friday at Jabdi area in Tangdhar sector.

“One terrorist has been neutralised in the operation. Search operation in the area is still going on,” officials said.

The identity and group affiliation of the slain could not be established.

There is no official statement from the Army about the operation so far.
