COVID -19: Complete lock down of air, rail, bus transport in HP, markets shut

Shimla, Mar 23: Himachal Pradesh State Administration has ordered complete lock down invoking prohibitory order and restricting the movement of vehicles, markets and business establishments.
However, only essential services were operating.
According to a notification issued by the Chief Secretary of Himachal Pradesh Anil Kumar Khachi on March 22, the lock down was ordered to contain the spread of novel Coronavirus.
The order said that exercising the (special) powers conferred by the Clause-3 of the Himachal Pradesh Epidemic Diseases (COVID-19) Amendment Regulations 2020 and section 115 of Motor Vehicle Act 1988, the movement of all stage career, Public Service Vehicle (PSV ) and contract carriages, public transport including taxi or maxi cabs shall be completely banned within the state up to March 31.
The operation of interstate stage-carriage and intra-state public transport or buses private as well as STU and operation of taxi or maxi cabs including auto-rickshaws would also be banned up to March 31 midnight.
There shall be a total ban on the entry and exit of all contract carriage of passengers transport vehicles up to March 31.
The private vehicles would be ply, only if essentially required for visiting hospitals and for availing or maintenance of essential services.
The order further stated that inspection teams consisting of RTO, police, health and district administration shall ensure that no there was no violation of rules.
Trains and commercial aircraft was also prohibited from movement.
The order added that people should reschedule their visits till the situation gets normalised.
