“..Feeling elated for getting recognition at highest national level,” Managing Director JK Cable Car Corporation Jeelani Zargar said.

A senior officer at Gulmarg said they have earned Rs 100 crore revenue during one season from the Gondola cable car and the collections have surpassed all the previous records which is a great achievement.

“The sales have surpassed all previous records,” he said.

The officer said an average 4000 people use this cable car every day.

The officer said a lot of effort has been made to achieve the milestone.

“It was a big challenge to achieve this sales target as the tourists who visit Gulmarg need good accommodation, hospitality and a good infrastructure,” the officer added.

The government has also made an on-line ticketing process that has helped to increase the revenue and has also reduced the hassles of tourists acquiring the ticket for taking a ride.
