Distt Admin Gbl sanctions relief of Rs 9.59 lakh to victims of landslides at Tehsil Gund

Ganderbal, Mar 9: The District Administration Ganderbal today sanctioned relief/financial assistance to a tune of Rs. 9,59,400 among the 18 victims/sufferers of Gund.

The  relief/financial assistance was provided to the victims whose residential houses, Structures, Land, Livestock, including crops had been damaged due to recent landslides which occurred on 22 February, 2023 in areas of Rezin, Porjat and Gagangeer.

Besides, Rs. 1.15 lakh has been distributed among the three victims/sufferers whose livestock have been damaged due to heavy snowfall/ heavy rains on 21 June, 2022 in the area of Mahlish, Tehsil Kangan.

The District Administration had constituted the committee under the chairmanship of Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Mehraj-ud-Din Shah to finalize the damage caused due to the landslides in block Gund.

The designated committee after examining the reports relevant documents received from concerned departments including Tehsildar Gund, Chief Animal Husbandry Officer, District Sheep Husbandry Officer and Executive Engineer R&B Division Ganderbal recommended the relief/financial assistance in favour of victims.
