Veteran actor Satish Kaushik no more

Mumbai, Mar 9:Veteran actor and filmmaker Satish Kaushik passed away at the age of 66 due to a heart attack early on Thursday morning, disclosed his close friend and industry colleague Anupam Kher.

Kher said that Kaushik felt uneasiness while at a friend’s home in Delhi, he subsequently told his driver to take him to a hospital but on the way, he suffered a heart attack.

Expressing his shock at Kaushik’s sudden demise Kher tweeted his heartfelt tributes to his old friend

‘I know that death is the ultimate truth but never in my dreams I thought that I would have to write that about my best friend Satish Kaushik. A sudden full stop to 45 years of friendship. Life will never be the same without you Satish! Om Shanti,’

Kaushik was alumnus of the National School of Drama(NSD) and the Film and Television Institute of India(FTII), he was loved by the masses for his comic timing. Some of his best known work was in cult classic films like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron, Deewana Mastana, Mr India and Udta Punjab.

Kaushik was also a director, his illustrious career included directing films like Salman Khan starrer Tere Naam and Mujhe Kuch Kehna Hai, starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Tusshar Kapoor.
