He said SBM is a landmark initiative by the Government of India driven by community participation for achieving Mahatma Gandhi’s dream of a Clean India.

Field Publicity Officer, CBC Sh. Shahid Mohammad Lone informed the participants about the objective of the awareness programme. He said that people need to be educated on how to handle different types of domestic wastes. He said that in house treatment of certain food wastes and segregation at the source will largely reduce the burden on the civic bodies and also benefit the households. He said people should religiously avoid single use plastics and turn to more durable and eco friendly alternatives. Sh.
