DDC B’la presides over Block Diwas at Boniyar

Overwhelming participation witnessed in the Public Outreach programme

Baramulla, Feb 15: In continuation to the ambitious Block Diwas programme of the government, the District Development Commissioner (DDC) Baramulla, Dr Sehrish Asgar today presided over a public outreach programme at Boniyar of Uri sub division.

At the outset, the DDC inspected the stalls set up by various line departments during which she was apprised about achievements and initiatives taken by the departments in line with the delivery of services to the public.

On the occasion, Dr Sehrish participated in the plantation drive and planted saplings within the School premises of Boniyar.

The PRIs put forward major demands including extension and  macadamisation of Burnate road, availability of transformer at Peerbaila, upgradation of Banali Kassi link road and Drug De-addiction Center at PHC Trikanjan. Besides, the upgradation of High School at Aronbuwa was also highlighted in the public outreach programme.

Boniyar-Burnait-Gulmarg Road was also highlighted by the PRIs and youth of Boniyar, for which a detailed project report was sought from the executing department.

DDC directed the concerned department to submit a feasibility report for the upgradation of the road.

Speaking on the occasion, DDC said that the public outreach programme is an ambitious programme of LG’s Administration which aims for good governance and delivery of services at the door step of the public.

DDC conveyed gratitude and said  that youth of Uri subdivision have always been enthusiastic and supportive which catalyzes that pace of service delivery by the line departments.

Highlighting that the District Administration has inaugurated a Drug De-addiction Center in Baramulla from the existing resources, Dr Sehrish asserted that more such centers will be established to cater the area specific needs for counselling of the youth and victims of Drug Abuse.

On the occasion, DDC distributed Land Passbooks among land owners.

She directed the line departments to work in synergy and put coordinated efforts for delivery of services and timely  resolution of grievances.

DDC member M Ismail, BDC chairman Bilal Ashiq, Sub Divisional Magistrate Uri Jatin Kishore, ACD Bla Shabir Ahmad Hakak, SE PHE Mohammad Haneef and other district and sectoral officers attended  the programme.
