Budgam Police arrests 02 Drug Peddlers;Contraband substance, mobile phones & cash recovered

Budgam, Feb 11:  Continuing its efforts to rein in the menace of drugs from the society, Budgam Police arrested 02 drug peddlers and recovered  contraband substance and cash from their possession.

During Patrolling near Higher Secondary school Sholipora, police party of Police station Budgam intercepted two persons roaming in suspicious conditions. On seeing the patrolling party, they tried  to escape from the spot but were apprehended tactfully. During search 124 Grams of charas like substance, 02 mobile phones & cash of Rs 10000/= was recovered from their possession. The arrested persons were subsequently identified as Showkat Ahmed Bhat @Dada son of Abdul Salam Bhat and Sameer Ahmed Bhat @ Bille son of Ali Mohammad Bhat both residents of Sholipora Budgam.

Case FIR number 28/2023 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Budgam & investigation taken up.

During the course of investigation, one accused namely sameer@Bille narrated and disclosed that he had concealed some more contraband substance at his residence, accordingly police party raided the house of accused and recovered 116 Grams of Charas like substance, 600 grams of Poppy Straw and cash of Rs. 19000/= on his instance. Investigation into the matter is going on.
