Kulgam , Feb11: Kulgam Police continued its unrelenting efforts against the drug peddling and its suppliers with the aim of eradicate the drug menace completely from the society, has arrested three more drug peddlers and recovered Charas, Brown sugar and Grinding Cannabis like Contraband Substances from their possession.
A police party from Police Post Mirbazar established a naka at Zadura and during checking two suspected persons namely; Shahid Mushtaq S/O Mushtaq Ahmad Bhat R/O Furrah and Zahoor Ahmad Khan S/O Sehrab Ahmad Khan R/O Delhi at present Anantnag carrying a nylon bag were intercepted. During checking of the said nylon bag 04 KG of Grinded Cannabis and 40 grams of Charas like contraband substances were recovered.
Both the drug peddlers were arrested and in this regard a case FIR No.16/2023 U/S 8/20 of NDPS Act has been registered in Police Station Qazigund and Investigation has been taken up.
Similarly, at another Naka which was established by the Police party from Police Station Qazigund near Railway station Qazigund and during checking, one person namely; Bilal Ahmad Bhat S/O Mohd Abdullah Bhat R/O Checki Badwani, Qazigund, moving in a suspicious manner was signalled to stop. After noticing the Police party he tried to flee from the spot and due to quick reaction of the naka party he was chased and apprehended tactfully. During his checking 02 grams of Brown Sugar & cash amount of Rs 3000 (pertains to the proceeds of Narcotic substances) was recovered from his possession. Regarding this incident case FIR NO. 17/2022 U/S 8/21 of NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Qazigund and investigation has been taken up.
