One day Literary Seminar on Punjabi, Kashmiri, Gojri & Pahari language

Srinagar, Feb 8 :Haryana Punjabi Sahitya Academy, Government of Haryana in collaboration with Dr. Mehar Rather organized one day Literary Seminar on Propagation of Punjabi, Kashmiri, Gojri & Pahari language in Jammu & Kashmir at SKICC, Srinagar. The event featured enthralling performances of folk dances and martial arts and panel discussions by eminent personalities. The seminar was organised with an endeavor to explore the lingual intricacies of Punjabi, Kashmiri, Gojri & Pahari language and the diverse and distinct literature available in these languages with special emphasis on the Sufism and Spirituality. The event focused to develop a new era of lingual and cultural relations between the Punjabi, Pahari, Gojri and Kashmiri speaking populous and is a stepping stone for development of an inclusive regional literature and lingual repository.

While speaking on the occasion, panelist like Social Activists, Poets, and writers, Senior Journalist Rashid Rahil, Raja Muneeb, Advocate Choudhary, Pramod Kumar Chairman Sahitya Academy Moscow, Adv. Hanan Khan, Ramanjeet Kour Teacher and Social Activist from Baramulla emphasized upon the need of preserving and protecting the regional languages and also explored and suggested many measures to amalgamate the regional languages for better national integration.

The event also felicitated Ghulam Mohammad Zaz as Chief Guest for the occasion. It is pertinent to mention that Ghulam Mohammad Zaz is a Padam Shri Awardee and the last Santoor maker of Kashmir.

While thanking the panelist and the audience, Dr Mehar Rather who is a behavioral psychologist and social activist, emphasized the need to organize such events in the future and the role language plays in connecting people from diverse backgrounds.
