DC Srinagar releases Education Assistance of Rs 22.25 lakh in favour of wards of 190 registered construction workers

Rs 7.41 Cr disbursed among 9413 beneficiaries under different schemes of JKBOCWWB during FY 2022-23

Srinagar, Feb7:Deputy Commissioner(DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad today released an amount of Rs 22.25 lakh in favour of the  wards of 190 beneficiaries/registered construction workers on account of Education Assistance under J&K Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board(JKBOCWWB) here at Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.

While interacting with the beneficiaries on the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner said that the Government is running several schemes for welfare of Building and other Construction workers with the object to regulate the employment and conditions of service and to provide safety, health and welfare measures for the registered workers.

At the outset, the DC was apprised by Assistant Labour Commissioner that during the current financial year an amount of Rs 7.41 crore have already been transferred among 9413 beneficiaries of the District through DBT mode under various schemes.

Giving details he informed that Rs 7.14 crore has been provided as Education Assistance, Rs 19.20 lakh under Death cum Funeral Assistance, Rs 5.99 lakh under Chronic Disease Assistance and Rs 1.97 lakh as Disability/Medical Assistance.

ALC further stated all the schemes have been shifted from offline mode to online mode, therefore all the registered construction workers are hereby advised to apply for any welfare scheme by visiting our official portal ( www.jkbocw.gov.in)

The Assistant Labour Commissioner, Arshid Qadir Bhat and other concerned were present on the occasion.
