4 Drug Peddlers held by Bla police at Delina, Mirgund

Baramulla, Feb 6: Four Notorious Drug Peddlers have been arrested by Baramulla Police at Delina and Mirgund areas during which a huge quantity of Banned drugs have been seized.

Police said that during naka checking at Delina Ghat, Police under the supervision of PSI Showkat Ahmad, IC PP Delina stopped vehicle bearing registration No. DL3CAD-2779 for checking boarded with three persons and during checking of the vehicle 35 grams of contraband Heroin like substance was recovered from them and the vehicle was also seized.

The drug peddlers identified as Jan Mohammad Lone @ Jagawar of Shaheen Mohalla Delina, Nadeem Ahmad Mir of Darpora Delina ,Maroof Ahmad Khan of Ramgai Uri were taken into custody.

During naka checking at Harthrat Pattan, Police under the supervision of PSI Zilal Ahmad, IC PP Mirgund witnessed suspicious movement of a person and on noticing Police naka party tried to flee from the spot who was apprehended tactfully. During his personal search, the bag carrying 35 grams of contraband Charas and 2.2 kgs of Poppy Straw like substance was recovered from him.

The drug peddler identified as Javid Ahmad Mir resident of Chenabal Pattan was taken into custody.

Meanwhile Cases under NDPS Act have been registered in Police Station Baramulla & Pattan and investigations set in motion.

General People of the area hailed the efforts of Baramulla Police and showed their willingness to support police to eradicate menace of drugs from the society which is the real sign of Police Public relationship.
