Massive Anti-Encroachment Operations continues in Ganderbal

17627 Kanals of government land retrieved till date

Ganderbal, Feb 1:  In continuation to the massive anti-encroachment operations in the district to evict Government Land from the illegal occupants, the District Administration Ganderbal today retrieved 495 kanals of State/ Kahcharai land in various tehsils of the district.

Special Anti-encroachment squads constituted by District Administration Ganderbal headed by Tehsildars conducted mass scale anti encroachment drives while taking assistance of Police and other departments.

In today’s anti-encroachment drive, 298 kanals of government land was retrieved at block Ganderbal by an Anti-encroachment squad headed by Tehsildar Ganderbal and 53 Kanals were retrieved by Tehsildar Tullamula. Besides, 65 kanals of Kahcharai land was retrieved in Tehsil Lar.

Similarly, Anti-encroachment squads in Sub-division Kangan retrieved 74 Kanals of government land which include 24 kanals of state land in block Kangan and 50 kanals in block Gund.

The District Administration has so far retrieved 17627 kanals of government land which include 11672 kanals of state land and 5955 kanals of Kahcharai land during Anti-encroachment drives.

The District Administration has sought cooperation of the general public in retrieving the government land from land grabbers and also warned of action under relevant laws in matters of encroachment on State/Kahcharai land.
