Illegal entries for 11985 Kanal land expunged in Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, MARCH 08: The Revenue Department has expunged illegal entries for 11985 Kanal and 4malras land in its records as part of the drive launched by the district administration Ganderbal to vacate encroached state and Khachari land.

The illegal entries have been cancelled and expunged for all of 11,985 kanals and 4 malras of encroached land across all seven blocks of the district amounting to 6902 kanal and 16.5 malras of State land and 5082 kanal and 8.5 malras of Khacharari land.

After verifying the land records of all seven blocks in the district, the illegal land entries were expunged which include 1053 kanal and 10 malra state land and 1394 kanal and 19 malra khacharari of Block Kangan; 2220 kanal and 10 malra state land, 783 kanal and 12 malra Khacharari of block Gund; 716 kanal and 12 malra State land and 649 kanal and 12 malra Khacharari of block Tulmula; 788 Kanal and 7 malra state land, 383 kanal and 11 malra Khacharari of block Wakura; 1087 kanal and 8.5 malra state land and 869 kanal 7.5 malra Khacharari of block Ganderbal; 1036 kanal and 9 malra state land and 1001 kanal 4 malra Khacharari of block Lar.

On the directions of DC Ganderbal Shafqat Iqbal, a comprehensive audit of revenue records was initiated in all the seven and district administration is now processing eviction proceedings against illegal occupants of the encroached land.
