Year 2022: Total Number of 3100 FIRs including 166 FIRs in NDPS with 279 arrests, 71 FIRs in UAPA with 120 Arrests registered in Srinagar: Police

Says 19 Militants were killed,85 Militants/ Associates were Detained Under PSA this Year

 

Srinagar, Dec 31: Police on Saturday said that it registered a total of 3100 FIRs including those related to militancy, NDPS in Srinagar in 2022.

In a series of tweets, The Srinagar police wrote, “In the year 2022, 3100 FIRs were registered. 166 FIRs in NDPS with 279 arrests. 71 FIRs in UAPA with 120 arrests. 85 militants/OGWs were detained in PSA. 52 Drug peddlers detained in PSA/PIT. 11 encounters led to the elimination of 19 militants (14 Local & 5 Pakistanis) in Srinagar,”.

In another tweet, they wrote, “70 cases of UAPA were charge-sheeted. 10 houses & 13 movable properties used for militancy were attached/sealed. Strict legal action was taken on social crimes like drugs, gambling, crimes against women,burglaries etc. Transparency & Community participation was emphasised,”.
