Rajnath Singh addresses 4th edition of Armed Forces Flag Day Corporate Social Responsibility Conclave

New Delhi, Nov 29: Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has said that soldiers have given a befitting reply to all challenges including wars and counter-terrorist activities with courage and promptness since independence.
Speaking during the fourth edition of the Armed Forces Flag Day Corporate Social Responsibility Conclave in New Delhi today, Singh said, many soldiers made the supreme sacrifice and became physically disabled. He said, it is a collective responsibility of the nation to help the soldiers and their families.

He urged everyone to come forward and support soldiers and their families in every possible way. He said, it is because of these brave soldiers, people sleep peacefully and live their lives without fear.

He has appealed to contribute generously to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. Singh urged the private sector to provide employment opportunities to 60 thousand soldiers who retire at a very young age every year. He said, these disciplined ex-servicemen are capable of understanding the most complex technology and using it proficiently.

Singh has launched a new website for the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund www.affdf.gov.in. The portal is an interactive and user-friendly portal developed to promote online contribution to the fund. He also released the anthem for this year’s promotional campaign for the Armed Forces Flag Day. A total of 34 crore rupees was received as a contribution to the CSR fund in last financial year.
