JD YSS takes stock of activities in different sports zones

Baramullah, Oct 22: Carrying forward its mission of Outreach, Transparency, and Delivery, the Department of Youth Services and Sports is making all efforts to make Jan Abhiyan campaign successful.
Joint Director (Kashmir) of the Department of Youth Services and Sports Bashir Ahmed visited many sports blocks of district Baramullah on Saturday and took stock of the sports activities being organised by the Department under this unique initiative. He appreciated Zonal Physical Education Officers of the district and their subordinate staff for ensuring mass participation of youth and students in the activities of play.
He added that the campaigns like Jan Abhiyan and Back to Village are aimed at reaching out to the people and making them part of the developmental process and it’s heartening to see the field staff of the Department getting fully involved in channelizing the energies of the young blood while encouraging the participation of youngsters in different games and recreational activities.
He gave a lucid account of facilities being provided by the department for the promotion of sports and urged youth and students to reap the benefit of the schemes. He thanked BDC members, sarpanches, panches for extending support in our endeavors and mission. He emphasized the need for the engagement of youth in sports to eradicate menace of drug abuse in our young generation. While expressing satisfaction over the huge participation of students and non-students in YSS cup-21, he urged upon the PRIs to play their role in getting maximum number of youth registered for YSS CUP-22 in their respective panchayat Halqas.
