Daylong Awareness programme on Disaster Preparedness held at IM-GDC Shopian

Shopian, Oct 6: A daylong Mega Awareness cum training programme on Disaster preparedness was today organised by District Disaster Management Authority, Shopian at Imtiyaz Memorial Govt Degree College (IM-GDC) Shopian, here.

On the occasion, training was imparted by the trainers from SDRF to the participants and a series of lectures were delivered with regard to disaster preparedness and its technical aspects.

Demonstration sessions on First Aid, Firefighting etc were also conducted by the SDRF Staff wherein the participants were made aware about the Disaster Management preparedness and were taught in detail as how to minimise effects of any disaster  and to avert hazards.

Incharge Programme, SDRF team, Lateef Ahmed said that such kind of programmes must be attended in order to get awareness about disaster preparedness so that impacts of disasters are mitigated without loss of life and property.

Moreover, he urged the students to involve themselves fully in such programmes and get proper training to face any eventuality.

Later, a live demonstration of equipment was also conducted which evoked keen interest from the students and participants.

Principal, IMGDC, Prof. Bashir Ahmed Dar, College Professors, Incharge SDRF, Shopian, Shahnawaz Ahmed Mir, Volunteers, besides a huge number of students were present.
