NIT Srinagar hosts lecture on ‘Alternate opportunities beyond Civil Engineering’

Such sessions provide a platform for students to interact, and exchange ideas with experts: Director

Srinagar, Sep 28:  Nabeel Kangoo an IIT Roorkee Alumnus (Civil Engineering), on Wednesday delivered a guest lecture on “Alternate Opportunities Beyond Civil Engineering’’ at National Institute of Technology Srinagar.

The expert talk was part of a special lecture series organized by the Civil Engineering Students’ Association (CESA), NIT Srinagar.

Kangoo is an IIT Roorkee Alumnus (Civil Engineering) and currently pursuing MBA at the University of Chicago.

In his key lecture address, he enlightened the students about different alternatives and opportunities after B.Tech. Kangoo shared his journey from IIT Roorkee to the University of Chicago.

Kangoo explained how the students can get enrolled in top Universities across the globe.

In his message, Director NIT Srinagar, Prof (Dr.) Rakesh Sehgal said such lectures are aimed to expose students to a variety of topics beyond their curriculum and provide a platform to interact and exchange ideas with eminent experts.

Institute’s Registrar, Prof. Syed Kaiser Bukhari said such lectures will not only benefit students but would also help them to explore more career options in their future.

Prof. Bukhari said the entire life of Nabeel Kangoo is full of contributions.  He is a true inspiration for the students aiming to serve the country in the field of engineering.

Earlier, Nabeel Kangoo was welcomed by Prof (Dr.) A Q Dar Head, Department of Civil Engineering. He said that such sessions should be held very frequently so that our students are exposed to various opportunities across the globe.

Prof. Dar lauded the Civil Engineering Students’ Association for organizing such lectures which help the students to gain knowledge and exposure. The welcome address was presented by Dr. Parmeshwar, Faculty Coordinator CESA.

The lecture concluded with a formal vote of thanks to guest and students by Prof (Dr.) Mohammad Shafi Mir, Chairman CESA.

He said such sessions or lectures will be conducted in the future so that more students will benefit from these initiatives.
