Weekly Block Diwas:DC Srinagar holds Public Grievance Redressal camp at Anchar, Soura

Hands over sanction letters to farmers, PMEGP beneficiaries worth Rs 35.0 Lakhs

 Srinagar, Sep 14: Continuing endeavour of District Administration, the Deputy Commissioner (DC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad Wednesday held the first ever Public Grievance Redressal Camp at Anchar Soura in Eidgah Tehsil of the District to listen to the public grievances and take appraisal of local demands at their door steps as part of Public Outreach Programme under weekly Block Diwas.

The Grievance Redressal Camp witnessed large participation of people from Anchar, Jenab Sahib Soura, Dulbagh, Bohlochipora and other adjoining areas.

SSP Hazratbal, General Manager, DIC, Chief Medical Officer, Deputy Director Employment, Executive Engineer, PHE, Tehsildar Eidgah, Chief Agriculture Officer, Assistant Labour Commissioner, District Social Welfare Officer, Lead Bank Manager and other Zonal and Sectoral Officers of the District were present in the camp.

During the programme, Public delegations and scores of individuals projected various developmental issues and demands before the DC including augmentation of drinking water supply, construction of Community facilitation Centre (CFC), reopening of backside gate of SKIMS, Soura, deployment of full time Patwari, land for school, macadamization of internal link roads, road from Bohlochipora to Ganderbal via Anchar and other developmental issues of the area.

  Addressing the gathering, the DC said that the District Administration is holding such Grievance Redressal Camps to take appraisal of local issues from the general public for precise and on-ground assessment to ensure their time bound redressal.

 Responding to the public demands, the DC assured the people of Anchar Soura and adjoining areas that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be addressed on priority.

 With regard to construction of Community Facilitation Centre in the area, DC sanctioned the funds and asked the concerned Tehsildar to identify a suitable land for the purpose at the earliest so that construction work could be taken up.

 The DC urged the local youth to come forward and avail the benefits of different self-employment and welfare schemes of the Government launched for handholding of the youth to earn livelihood with dignity and honour and become job providers too.

 On the occasion, the DC directed for holding a Joint Mega Awareness camp in the area for mass awareness of the local people especially youth of the areas so that they are sensitized about the different Employment generation schemes.

  During the programme, people of the area thanked the DC for conducting the first ever public outreach programme at Anchar area and bringing Administration at the doorsteps of the people for early redressal of their grievances and issues.

On the occasion, the DC handed over sanction letters to the tune of Rs 35.50 lakh under Prime Minister Employment Generation programme (PMEGP) to beneficiaries of the area for establishment of income generating units like Shawl Embroidery, Gymnasium, Restaurant, Cutting Tailoring, etc.

 The DC also handed over sanction letters to the local Agriculture farmers for establishment of  polygreen houses (wooden).

 During the programme, the District Social Welfare officer, Srinagar, Dr Mukhtar Ahmad gave a detailed appraisal about the different schemes run by Social Welfare Department including Integrated Social Assistance Scheme (ISSS) through which a monthly pension of Rs.1000 is given to old age BPL persons, having age of 60 years for men and 55 years for women, persons having disability 40 percent or more and widows, divorcees and destitute having meagre source of income.

He also highlighted Pre Matric, Post Matric, Merit cum Scholarship and about State Marriage Assistance scheme, under which every household girl of marriageable age belonging to PHH/ AAY category is eligible to receive marriage assistance of Rs 50000 after fulfilling eligibility conditions.

 Similarly, Assistant Labour Commissioner, Arshid Qadir also highlighted the objectives of various schemes of Labour Department for Building and Other Construction Workers with the object to regulate the employment and conditions of service and to provide safety, health and welfare measures for the building and other construction workers. He also highlighted the importance of registration of unorganised workers on e-SHRAM Portal.

On the occasion, the Fisheries Officer also informed the public about the various schemes of the Department as the Anchar area has about 1000 registered fishermen.
