DC Ganderbal presides over Qamaria day on eve of Urs Hazrat Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari

Ganderbal, Sep 10: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir and SSP Ganderbal, Nikhil Borkar today presided over the Qamria Day being celebrated on eve of Urs Hazrat Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari Ganderbal.

Qamaria Day was organized by Qamria Model Higher Secondary Educational Institute Saloora Ganderbal in the lawns of school.

 

Deputy Commissioner in his address appreciated the efforts of the school management in building befitting institution in the district. He said that district Ganderbal has produced personalities with leadership qualities and complemented the students who acquired excellence in curricular and co-curricular activities. He also assured full support to the school management in its endeavors.

 

Principal, Nazir Ahmad Kanth while paying rich tribute to Sufi Saint Hazrat Qamar-ud-Din Bukhari gave a brief about the functioning of the school and said that the school is a community based school which is run by the Qamria Wakaf Trust.

Chairman Qamria Muslim Wakaf Trust, Sheikh Ghulam Rasool gave a detailed background of the school and said that initially Islamic teaching was only taught in the school and later formal education was also introduced.

Later, Annual award ceremony was also held in which students of the school who excelled in academics and co-curricular activities were felicitated. School Tarana was also presented by the school children.
