CBC J&K organizes 5th ICOP at Batote under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav

Photo Exhibition under AKAM attracts large audiences across district Ramban

Batote, Aug 22 :Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India, J&K today organized its 5th Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (2 day Photo-Exhibition) under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav at Government Model Higher Secondary School, Batote.

The two day programme was inaugurated by Sh. Vijay Kumar Sharma, Executive Magistrate, Batote.

The programme was aimed to aware the students about the sacrifices being made by the freedom fighters during the freedom movement of India. Apart from this, the students were also informed about the freedom fighters of North India especially from Jammu and Kashmir who fought for the freedom of India.

In his address, Sh. Vijay Kumar Sharma appreciated the initiative of CBC, J&K to organize such an informative programme for the students related to the freedom struggle of India. He impressed upon the students to take best advantage of this photo exhibition under Azadi Ka Amrit Mohatsav and get informed about the freedom fighters of India who sacrificed themselves for the nation. He said that students have an important role to play in achieving the goals under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

Chief Planning Officer, Ramban, Sh. Kasturi Lal who was also the chief guest  on the occasion said that such a kind of an exhibition under AKAM is very informative especially for the student community who can spread this information to different corners of the society.

Welcoming the guests Sh. Ghulam Abbas, Joint Director, CBC, J&K, Ladakh region apprised the audience about the mandate of CBC and also informed them about the structure and functioning of CBC. He also presented a detailed overview of the objectives and vision behind Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav campaign.

Addressing the gathering, Principal GMHSS Batote, Sh. Dev Raj stressed upon the need for organizing more such awareness programmes for the students and thanked CBC for choosing this school as a host for this photo exhibition.

CDPO Ramban, Miss Ravinder Kour emphasized on the role of ICDS under AKAM, providing healthy meals to the lactating mothers, adolescent girls, pregnant mothers for the benefit of the nation.

Besides officials from RDD, Revenue Department, ASHA workers, ICDS workers, students and teachers, the program was also attended by Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Field Office Udhampur, Sh. Khursheed Yousuf, Sh. Gurnaam Singh, I/C FOB Rajouri, Sh. Rajesh Sharma, I/C FOB Doda and EO Municipality Batote, Sh. Sanjay.

CBC, J&K had installed informative standees of freedom fighters under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav for the awareness of the visitors. Apart from this printed awareness material was also distributed among the students. Theme based cultural programmes were presented by the private registered troupe (PRT) of CBC, J&K and Ladakh.

Earlier, CBC J&K organized four ICOPs at Leh, Bhaderwah, Naushera and Kathua.
