CBI arrests revenue official for bribery

Jammu, Aug 13:The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday arrested a revenue official for accepting a bribe to issue a land document.

An official spokesman said a CBI team arrested Ajay Kumar, posted at Miran Sahib in Jammu district, for demanding and accepting Rs. 25,000 from the complainant.
He had reportedly sought Rs. 50,000 for issuing a land record and said it should be paid in two installments of Rs. 25,000 each.


The spokesman said the CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while accepting Rs. 25,000.
Rs. 2 lakh in cash was recovered during searches, he said, adding, the accused was produced before the Court of Special Judge, CBI, in Jammu.
