Demise of Murtaza Mushtaq’s Mother: JFK Extends Commiserations to Journalist, His Family

Srinagar, Aug 1 : Journalist Fraternity Kupwara (JFK) has extended sympathies with Murtaza Mushtaq Mir, senior journalist and Handwara-based correspondent of GNS and API, over sudden demise his mother Shameema Begum – who breathed her last at SMHS Hospital here on Saturday last.

In a statement issued to GNS, the fraternity extended heartfelt commiserations to the bereaved family, especially to colleague Murtaza Mushtaq over the colossal loss and prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

“Chairman JFK Javid Zargar, President Yahya Sultan, Vice Chairman Shamim Abdullah and General Secretary Kabeer Geelani shared their heartfelt condolences, prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved family in these testing times”, reads the statement.

“In this hour of grief the entire JFK stands in solidarity with the bereaved family,” the statement reads.

A virtual condolence meeting was also held by JFK during which special prayers were held to invoke blessings on the departed soul and forbearance to the bereaved family.

Meanwhile, several other reputed journalists from the district which include; Rahee Mushtaq, Ashraf Chiraq, Jahangir Lolabi, Raja Akbar, Syed Ishfaq Karnah, Tarique Raheem, Sahil Shamim, Suhail Ahmad Shah, Peerzada Zubair Ahmad, Mudasir Lone, Shamim Bhat, Ajaz Manzar, Tariq Rather, Mudabir Ahmad and others have expressed condolences to the bereaved family.
