J&K Reports 727 Covid-19 Cases, 2 Deaths

Srinagar, July 29 : Jammu and Kashmir reported 727 covid-19 cases even as two people succumbed to the virus during the last 24 hours, officials said on Friday.

They said that 206 cases were reported from Jammu division and 521 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally 463359. Among the cases, 170988 are from Jammu division and 292371 from Kashmir Valley. Two deaths, one each from Kashmir Valley and Jammu division took the overall death toll due to the pathogen to 4768.

Among those who succumbed to the virus since the outbreak of the pandemic, 2339 were from Jammu division and 2429 from The Valley.

Besides, they said, 572 Covid-19 patients recovered during the last 24 hours—346 from Jammu division and 226 from Kashmir Valley. There are now 4468 active cases— 1813 in Jammu and 2655 in Kashmir.

Providing district wise details of the cases, they said, Jammu reported 134 cases, Udhampur 7, Rajouri 10, Doa 9, Kathua 5, Samba 12, Kishtwar 1i, Poonch 6, Ramban 3, Reasi 1, Srinagar 246, Baramulla 94, Budgam 42, Pulwama 8, Kupwara 49, Anantnag 35, Bandipora 13, Ganderbal 12, Kulgam 21 and Shopian 1.

The officials told GNS there was no new confirmed case of mucormycosis (black fungus) reported today. So far 51 black fungus cases have been confirmed in J&K, the officials said. They also informed that 15607 doses of covid-19 vaccine were administered during the time in J&K.
