Srinagar, July 27 :Commissioner Srinagar Municipal Corporation, Athar Amir Khan today extensively toured Shia specific areas to review preparation and arrangements of upcoming Muharram-ul-haram.
He was accompanied by Chairman Public Health and Sanitation Committee Arif Raja, several Corporators and all senior Officers of Corporation including Joint Commissioners’ S.E Drainage , Executive Engineers from left River works, right River works, Executive Engineer Electric wing, Executive Engineer PHE/ water works, Executive Engineer City Roads R&B, Chief Sanitation Officer, Chief Transport Officer, Chief Anti Encroachment Officer, Sanitation Officers, Ward Officers and other officials.
Athar visited Zadibal Imambargah, Mir Shamas Iraqi Shrine at Zadibal where he directed to upgrade the sanitation and to ensure the other services including the functionality of street lights, adequate water supply, desilting of blocked drains with immediate cleaning of muck from the routes where from Mohharam processions will be taken out and other services too.
Commissioner took an extensive round of the Zadibal area the entire stretch where from the processions will take place.
He also visited Imambargah Gulshanabad and Imambargah at Hasnabad where he met several delegations and inhabitants of the areas.
He gave them a patient hearing amid ensured them that all their demands and requirements for smooth and successful Mohharam days will be taken care of.
Commissioner on the occasion passed on directions that a team of officers from all wings of SMC including Sanitation, electric, PHE , Electric , Drainage and works wing will be in constant contact with the representatives or the members of the several delegation representing various Imambargahs to fulfill the requirements and put all necessary arrangements in place for Muharram.
At Hasnabad Imambargah ,Commissioner SMC besides reviewing the arrangements for Muharam also took stock of various ongoing SMC works including repairing of toilet block, fencing of graveyard and construction of vital link lane between Naidyar and Hasnabad.
Later Commissioner also took stock of arrangements of Imambargah at Khomeini chowk Bemina.
