Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav:Ujjwal Bharat, Ujjwal Bhavishya Mahotsavo celebrated in Ganderbal

Ganderbal, July 26: As part of the celebration of ‘Azadi Ka Amrut Mahotsav’ to mark the 75 years of India’s Independence, District Administration Ganderbal along with the Ministry of Power in collaboration with NHPC & JPDCL celebrated Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya power @2047 here at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Ganderbal.

The Bijli Mahotsav was formally inaugurated by the DDC Chairperson Ganderbal, Nuzhat Ishfaq and Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir.

 

ADC Ganderbal, President Municipal Council Ganderbal, Hilal Ahmad, Councilors, students and teachers were also present on the occasion.

 

The programme was attended by SE PDD, Executive Engineer and other officers of PDD, NHPC and allied departments besides students.

 

Addressing the participants, the chief guest threw light on Ujjawal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya and highlighted the key achievements of India under the power sector. He said that the Bijli Mahotsav was being celebrated all over the country under the umbrella of Ujjwal Bharat Ujjwal Bhavishya – Power @2047 to encourage public participation and getting across the developments in the power sector to the citizens at large.

 

The DDC Chairperson while speaking on the occasion appreciated the tireless efforts made by NHPC and JPDCL for organizing this programme. She said that electricity plays a very important role in our day to day life and there is a need to use it judiciously.

 

During the programme, documentaries based on universal household electrification, village electrification, strengthening of distribution system, testimonials of beneficiaries availing electrification schemes, film on capacity addition, ‘One Nation One Grid’ and Renewable Energy were screened.

 

Nukkad Natak and Cultural items spreading awareness on the theme of saving electricity, online bill payment, grievance redressal system were also presented during the function.
