JK Police felicitates teacher, whose transfer left students heartbroken

Srinagar, July 19 :The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Tuesday felicitated Amrik Singh, a school teacher in Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, days after a video went viral, showing a group of students crying incessantly upon hearing the transfer of their favourite teacher.

In the video, a group of students, mostly girls, were seen outside their school as Amrik Singh was waving at them. The girls were seen wailing as Singh left the school premises. The video had been widely shared on social media.

Senior Superintendent of Police, Budgam Tahir Saleem felicitated the Government School teacher for his dedication towards his profession and affection students, a police spokesman said

While appreciating the teacher, the SSP Budgam congratulated him for his dedication towards his duties and his interest into teaching, which left the students in incessant tears upon his transfer from the Government Middle School.

The SSP Budgam, while presenting a memento and an appreciation letter to Amrik Singh, said that the wails and tears of innocent school children speaks volumes about their affection for the teacher. Amrik thanked the SSP for this goodwill gesture.

The SSP advised the teacher to remain focused in his profession, continue the good work and contribute towards nation building.
